　　Cell cycle is the series of events that take place in a cell leading to its division and duplication. It is one of the most fundamental questions in biology. Cell cycle is highly regulated in all organisms. Mis-regulation of cell cycle is related to many human diseases, such as cancers and neurodegenerative diseases. In this lecture, several important cell cycle regulations, or cell cycle checkpoints, will be introduced. Cell cycle regulation in relation to cancer, which is ultimately caused by the loss the cell cycle control, will also be introduced.

　　张昭洁教授，1985、1988年分别在山东大学取得学士、硕士学位，并留校工作。1994年赴美，并与1999年在奥克拉荷马大学取得细胞生物学博士学位。先后工作于美国俄克拉荷马州医学研究基金会、美国怀俄明州立大学。现为美国怀俄明州立大学动物和生理学系教授。主要研究领域涉及利用高端显微镜技术支持下的生理学研究，以及癌症细胞周期研究。
